Premium haircuts and a little
glitz and glamour in Hastings
and St Leonards on Sea

About me

After working in London as a stylist for 30 years, I have been wooed by the fabulous vibe in Hastings and St Leonards.
However, I started my career with Mr. Teasy-Weasy Raymond and then spent 10 years with Toni and Guy managing the Covent Garden salon and eventually becoming their youngest ever franchisee with my very own salon. I was then headhunted by celebrity coiffure Nicky Clarke and I worked with him for seven years in his flag-ship Mayfair salon which was beyond exciting, working with celebrities and royals… the stories I could tell you, so be warned not to get me started!!
I then joined ‘Urban Retreat’ at Harrods where I worked as a senior stylist and Educational Director, but after 8 years I started to do more freelance work which meant less time in the salon. I also began cutting hair with charities, particularly Crisis and other homeless charities and I became aware of the importance of a good haircut and pampering to people who don’t have the luxury of visiting a salon.
So in a moment of clarity and a huge career change, I took a five-year lease on an old storeroom at the Chelsea and Westminster hospital and with a lick of paint and some glitz and glamour turned it into an ‘Andrew Scissorhands Hair Salon’ - which compared to all that celebrity snipping was one of the most amazing and rewarding things I have ever done. As a result, I have just started working with Seaview who are the most amazing homeless charity here in St. Leonards, so please support them.
The next part of my journey is to keep those scissor-hands working to ‘share the joy’ and continue to make a difference to clients old and new here in my chosen home of Hastings and St. Leonards.
I can give you the perfect contemporary haircut which I know will work best for you and ultimately elevate your soul… and so much more.

So why choose me?

I want to bring all that experience and enthusiasm I have for hairdressing down to my new much-loved home in Hastings and St. Leonards.
We all want to be pampered and look great, so my mission is to give everybody the perfect look to suit both their image and their life-style. I know how to do this through using my 30 years experience, offering a good consultation and the best haircut.
My influences come from all the clients and fashions I have worked with through the decades, from music, popular culture and looks that still influence me today and I have even ‘rocked’ a few of those looks myself in my time!! But most of all my influences are from people who I meet and see every day, from street fashion and trends that are constantly evolving in front of our eyes.
I love what I do and I believe that changing our image and life through a good haircut is so empowering and not only makes us look and feel great, but boosts our confidence in ourselves… We all want to feel good both inside and out.

My dear Andrew, you are a genius! As usual, you have transformed my fine, flimsy hair into my crowning glory. Thank you so much and for the fun I have with you too. With love.

Hello Andrew. First of all I would like to thank you for the superb way that you do my hair, you have made an ancient monument look quite respectable. I am so glad our paths have crossed, you are great company and I love talking to you about the theatre and most of all the dedication to the work you are doing.

Andrew, it has been such a pleasure knowing you first as someone to 'fix' my hair, then the person, the sensitive caring side of you-giving all you’ve got to your clients and eventually becoming friends with you. I wish you the best this world has to offer you, Andrew, because you deserve it and then some more. Thank you for all you are to me, you are a special human being.
